What Are The Major Differences Between Windows Vista And Windows 7?
I am about to purchase my first laptop, a Gateway NV5214u. Its my first PC aside from an old, almost unusable desktop. Ive grown up a Mac user and I am going into my sophomore year of high school. I really dont know much about these operating systems. I get a free upgrade to Windows 7 but to me (someone who is not too PC savvy) what are the major and/or noticeable differences between Windows Vista and Windows 7?

I never used vista because of all the bad stories I’ve heard and read. I use windows 7 on a laptop right now and I really like it it runs smooth , much more user-friendly than XP, is really flashy/looks great. You should want this over Vista
The taskbar is more awesome
cool graphic shortcuts
faster start/shutdown
faster system all around
more customizable
