I have a windows vista inspiron 1501 laptop and I lost my original reinstall cd. My friend has a reinstall cd from a windows xp. Would it be okay to use that? Or can I even use it?

Ive recently purchased a wireless Brother printer and a wireless HP windows vista laptop. When I go in to install it it prompts me that there are no printers in the area, even thou there are, and it is on. Why would it say that and what can I do to connect it?

I had windows xp on my ibm thinkpad. Then I reformatted it and tried to install windows xp on it. When I inserted a windows xp cd into the ibm and then setup started..Then I got an error saying no harddrive was found…But when I tried windows vista install it found the harddrive?

My dad bought a Dell Studio 1535 with the fingerprint technology laptop about 2 years ago. It has Windows Vista installed on it. The cd-rom is not working properly, and I’ve tried numeruos things to fix it. I was going to try reinstalling Vista, but the set of disks that came with it, none are labeled “operating system”. All of the disks are labeled “application software”.

I have a toshiba laptop with windows vista, i dont have the administrador password and i dont know how to reset it. I would really like to be able to do it using an F key. When i try using safe mode it just takes me to the sign in page. PLEASE HELP ME.

I was thinking of buying either Vista or Windows 7 to install on both my computer and laptop with the same disc. Can I use the key that comes with the disc for both or can I use the keys on my computer and my laptop? Is this possible? I just don’t want to buy two discs for the desktop and laptop.

I just bought a new laptop and it came pre-installed with windows vista, but vista is a memory hog and I was wondering how I can uninstall windows vista and install windows xp. I’m running on a Toshiba Satellite A135-S2276 laptop if that helps.

I bought an 8GB USB flash memory stick from Microcenter in Georgia. However, my Lenovo laptop with Windows vista home would not recognize the drive when it is connected through USB port. Why is this and how do I enable the use of it on my laptop? Should I update the windows vista to use 8GB memory falsh drive? The memory stick itself didn’t come with any driver to install.

My mother has a laptop from Dell that is about 3 years old. It has Windows Vista and has Crashed severely and gave the blue screen of death and then won’t start up for a few hours afterwards. Any reasons why it would be doing this?
