How do I install Windows XP on a computer with Vista, I want to have both installed at the same time.?
I would like to have the ability to run windows vista on my computer and still keep my Windows Vista. How can I go about setting space for Windows XP? Thank you.

If you do a simple google search for
dual boot xp and vista
you will find a ton of info on how to do that

I run 4 OS’ including XP Pro and Vista. You need to put XP on first, then ater installing XP, Install Vista and it will set up a boot menu screen so when you boot up it will ask which version to boot to. Honestly, you should consider 7. It’s faster, more stable and a lot less hassles.
Keep in mind, you need a separate drive or drive partition for each OS.

That talks about windows 7 but it’s the same process.
The process is called dual-booting and the full list of steps is probably a little long to post here.
Instead check out (the original url was too long to display here):

that’s a great detailed guide with plenty of pictures and information all the way from partitioning to installing and configuring to dual boot.
Hey…
you have to install your win xp in a separate partition……when set up asks for the partition to which it is to be installed….don’t select C drive…..rather choose a different one……then on booting you will be asked…
Which OS you want to open…..
ans thats it….
Well don’t forget to back up your data….for security reasons……use a good back up utility…..
You have to have 2 or more drives to do dual boot. either partition (separate) your C drive or get another hard drive. one OS one drive.
you can partition by, right clicking my computer->manage->storage->disk management or get a partitioning software online.
make sure you allocate enough space (min 1.5GB) in the new drive.
insert xp cd and install in the new drive. taDa and you’re done
